About the project

We have prepared the Economic development strategy: Discussion paper (Discussion paper).

The Discussion paper seeks to deliver upon Council’s stated ambition in the Community strategic plan to “transform Blacktown City into a modern city with an economy that benefits everyone and celebrates our cultural diversity”, while responding to economic opportunities, challenges, and funding constraints.

The purpose of this discussion paper is to start a conversation with the people who know Blacktown City best - you - our residents, businesses, students and community groups.

We want your thoughts on:

• the challenges and opportunities facing Blacktown City’s economy
• how we can create more local jobs, vibrant neighbourhoods and better services
• the areas Council should focus on over the next 5 years and beyond.

The Discussion paper aligns has been informed by extensive research and consultation. Your feedback will be used to inform the new economic development strategy.
