Why does Blacktown City Council have a Disability Inclusion Action Plan
Our Disability Inclusion Action Plan outlines our commitment towards accessibility for all, ensuring residents of all ages, backgrounds and abilities have fair and equal access to the facilities, programs, services and information that we provide to the community. As our area grows and changes, we want to make sure that our City is inclusive and accessible for everyone who lives, works and visits here.
What is in the Disability Inclusion Action Plan?
The plan outlines the actions that will be taken over the next 4 years to remove barriers and improve access for people with disability so they can participate in all areas of community life.
What are the focus areas of the Disability Inclusion Action Plan?
The plan includes 4 focus areas which have been nominated by people with disability as being important to creating an inclusive community (NSW Disability Inclusion Action Plan Guidelines for Local Government).
Each focus area includes a number of actions we will deliver, some in collaboration with service providers, local businesses or other government agencies. The focus areas are:

The Social Profile provides a snapshot of community strengths, challenges and opportunities for people with disability and is a resource to support planning and research.
